Implications of ABO Group and Rh Status on Disease

Course Description: Research has been underway for decades to discover why some people are more or less impacted by certain diseases than others. Links have been found between susceptibility and severity of certain diseases in relation to an individual’s ABO group and/or Rh status. In this article, a background of ABO groups and Rh will be presented, the research into what technical components within those identifiers may be connected to the severity and susceptibility of certain diseases and which diseases have been found to be linked to ABO groups and/or Rh status.
